Academic Model
Tailored Instruction for Individual Needs
Cottage Seven Academy’s curriculum is state standard aligned and approved by the PA Department of Education. We use multiple learning environments to deliver content in all grade levels. We use three instructional delivery methods in our classrooms for content delivery, skills development and remediation.
Small Group Direct instruction: Our core subjects use small group instruction to deliver grade-level based content to our students. The groupings range from individual to five students and the groups are selected based on academic level, achievement and dynamics. This allows us to differentiate our instruction to individual needs and ensure retention before moving on through the curriculum.
Skills development and remediation: Cottage Seven Academy uses a program that is widely used in PA called IXL Learning. This program is specifically designed for students with disabilities to identify individual instructional needs and develop a plan to master the skills that relate to the subject matter.
